Alison Doody

Alison Doody was born in Dublin in 1966. She was raised in an affluent family. She is the youngest child of three. She was educated in a convent, where she developed a love for the arts. She went on to study at the National College of Fine Arts in Dublin however, she left because she didn't have the drive and thought she would take a year off to think it out. While sitting in a cafe with her friends, a still photographer approached her, asking if she was interested in modelling. She agreed, believing she could benefit from the money. Modeling proved to be fun and lucrative and soon she did it professionally. Modeling contracts lead to commercial jobs which took her around the world. A casting director saw her work and suggested that she try acting. At 19 years old she was referred to London and was quickly able to win an audition to play A View to a Kill (1985). She was so enthralled by acting that she pursued an acting career. Following her debut film, she shot a few TV dramas in London and in Dublin However, her biggest break came when she got chosen to play Aryan seductress Dr. Elsa Schneider in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989). Her performance impressed George Lucas and Steven Spielberg, who both loved her humor and her Grace Kelly looks. She was introduced to Hollywood by Indiana Jones. After that, she shot a few B-movies while in the United States
