MATTHEW SETTLE

 At the age of 19, Matthew Settle moved to New York City and joined a rock band. When his musical insecurities eventually forced him to rethink his future, he decided to become an actor. Many drama classes, unsuccessful pilots, and TV films after that, this late-comer into the world of film was offered his first major role as the oldest principal cast member in the teenage scream flick I Still Know What You Did Last Summer (1998). He was nearly 29 years old.Born on September 17, 1969 in Hickory, NC, Settle is the youngest of two daughters and four boys. His father was a Baptist preacher and his mother was a church organist. The family moved in 1983. relocated to Sevierville. Settle was an avid Dolly Parton fan and sold records at Dollywood's amusement park. He later determined to become a musician. After being kicked out of the New York-based band Settle started selling meat and seafood from an Long Island truck before Jay Julian (Robert De Niro’s lawyer) was able to get him into acting school. Settle borrowed money from his friends to pay for the classes, and then moved to Los Angeles to start his career. He later played an aspiring frat boy in the film of the week What happened to Bobby Earl? (1997) together with Kate Jackson and Kristian Alfonso, land a small role in the television film Murder in Mind (1997) with Ellen Burstyn and Kristin Davis and also play Green Lantern in the pilot for Justice League of America (1997) with David Ogden Stiers and Miguel Ferrer.
