Michelle Monaghan

 Michelle Lynn Monaghan was born on March 23, 1976, in Winthrop, Iowa. She is the youngest child of three and is the sole daughter to Sharon (Hamel) who managed a daycare center, and Robert L. Monaghan a farmer and factory worker. She is of Irish and German heritage. After finishing the high school of Iowa and then pursuing a degree in journalism for three years at Chicago's Columbia College. To finance her college tuition, she took a job as a model. In 1999, she quit college and relocated to New York to work full-time as a fashion model. She walked on runways in Milan and Tokyo as well as Hong Kong. Her big screen debut in the tiny role as Henrietta in Perfume (2001). Monaghan gained fame in 2002, when she appeared as Kimberly Woods for one season on the television show Boston Public (2000). After appearances in several supporting roles, she starred with Robert Downey Jr. and Val Kilmer in the black comedy Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (2005). Monaghan was in the role of the lead female character, was later in 2005 filming in China and Italy for Mission: Impossible III (2006).
