Pam Grier

 Pamela Suzette Grier (also known as Pam Grier) is an American actor from America. She rose to fame for her roles in films that were blaxploitation, such as The Big Bird Cage,' 'Coffy,' 'Foxy Brown, and 'Sheba Baby. Her reputation was dissected for her roles in blaxploitation and returned to the scene in Quentin Tarantino’s ‘Jackie Brown’ in which she was awarded the Golden Globe nomination. Pam Grier was born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and because of her father's military career; her family moved frequently during her childhood and eventually settled in Denver. She attended East High School, and she had a dream of becoming an MD. She was involved in various stage productions, and she participated in beauty contests to help raise money for college tuition. Grier is, in addition to "Jackie Brown", has also appeared in a variety of blockbuster films, including "Fort Apache", The Bronx" and "Above the Law". She has never been married, and has been intimately involved with basketball legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as well as comedian Richard Pryor. Pam Grier was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Humane Sciences from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, and an honorary Doctorate of Science by Langston University.
