Paul McCartney

 Sir Paul McCartney is a key persona in the world of contemporary music as a musician, singer, poet artist, writer, humanitarian, entrepreneur, and the holder of over 3 thousand copyrights. He is listed in the "Guinness Book of World Records" for most records sold, the most #1s (shared) as well as the most-covered song, "Yesterday," largest attended solo show (350,000+ people, in 1989 in Brazil). He is regarded as one of the greatest entertainers of all times. James "Jim" McCartney was his father. He worked as a cotton merchant and a pianist who was part of the Jim Mac's Jazz Band, Liverpool. McCartney is of Irish and English descent. The young McCartney was raised in a non-denominational home. He was a student of art and music, and had a happy childhood with his younger brother, Michael. At the age of 11 he was one of the four students who passed the 11+ exam, known as "the scholarship" in Liverpool and earned a place at Liverpool Institute for Boys. He attended the institute from 1953 to 1960, earning A level in English and Art.
