Abbie Cornish

In libraries, the term biography is used to refer both to books of a particular kind and also to a space where books of that kind are located. Every biography is a story about a person who is real. It could be about someone who lived long ago in the past, but also one who is alive but in this instance, it will be incomplete. The term autobiography refers to a biography written by the person who wrote it. However, they can be incomplete. Sometimes biographies are much shorter than books. It's something any person who's been asked to write bios for a newsletter or conference will be grateful for. The term used in these contexts is shortened to bio, a word that could be a synonym for biography and an expression for what's actually an autobiographical sketch, which is brief descriptions of someone's life. These kinds of biographies--bios--vary, but many times they are only a few sentences long. It can be helpful to study bios in the same angle as your own to get ideas for what to write.
