Alicia Silverstone

Alicia Silverstone was the youngest of three siblings and was born in San Francisco, California on October 4 1976. She is the daughter of Monty Silverstone (a real estate investor) and Didi (Radford) she is an ex-flight attendant. Her English-born father was born into an ethnically Jewish family. Her Scottish-born mother converted and became an adherent of Judaism. Alicia's career began at the tender age of six, when her father took a couple of photos of his young daughter, which eventually led to her getting many commercials on TV. After a guest spot on The Wonder Years (1988) as the literal "dream girl" and then moving to films. She landed a role in The Crush (1993), a sort of Fatal Attraction (1987) for teenagers in which she portrayed a disturbed young girl in love with an older man. The gruesome role was not a hit with the critics media, but it did impress its target audience: teens. The role actually was awarded the actress in 1994 an MTV Movie Award for "Best Villain" and "Breakthrough Performance". It's interesting to note that during the filming of the film Alicia became an emancipated minor to circumvent child labor laws that would be detrimental to her working hours. She was an avid actress from early on.The film also attracted the attention of Aerosmith who asked her to appear in many of music videos.
