American comedian actor, voice-over performer entertainer and writer Tim Allen is the American actor and voice-over artist, comedian, writer, entertainer, and comedian Tim Allen. After years of struggle as standup comic in Los Angeles comedy clubs and commercials on small-time TV, Allen finally found his breakthrough in the sitcom of ABC "Home Improvement." The show ran for eight years, and helped to launch Allen's acting career and established his status as a comedian and actor in Hollywood. After appearing in the sitcom, he landed large roles in films such as "Galaxy Quest," and "The Santa Clause' series of films. Allen was also the voice of Buzz Lightyear on the animated series 'Toy Story. Allen was a chaotic individual before he became an actor. His father passed away when he was only 11 and he drank with illicit drugs to earn quick money. He was arrested for possession of cocaine and sentenced to prison for 28 months.
