Bill Murray

 American comedian and actor Bill Murray. He is the fifth child of nine. He was born to Lucille Murray (a mailroom clerk) and Edward Joseph Murray II (who sold lumber), in Wilmette. He is of Irish origin. His siblings include actors Joel Murray, Brian Doyle-Murray and John Murray. The majority of his siblings were caddies. This paid his tuition to Loyola Academy, a Jesuit school. While at the school, he took part in athletics and did some acting however, he claimed that many of his classmates "screwed off". He enrolled at Regis College in Denver to pursue a pre-med degree, but dropped out after being charged with marijuana possession. With Gilda Radner and John Belushi, he joined the National Lampoon Radio Hour. He was a part of Saturday Night Live with Howard Cosell (1975), the same year that his birth year was. He was unable to make the show, and he was offered a role in Saturday Night Live (1975) which was where he received his first Emmy Award in Outstanding Writing in a Comedy-Variety or Music Show. He later went on to be a part of comedy films, including Meatballs (1979), Caddyshack (1980), Stripes (1981), Tootsie (1982), Ghostbusters (1984), Ghostbusters II (1989), Scrooged (1988) as well as What About Bob? (1991), Groundhog Day (1993), and The director also wrote Quick Change (1990). Murray received additional praise from critics later in his career as a lead actor in Lost in Translation (2003) which won him the Golden Globe and a BAFTA Award for Best Actor, as well as an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor. Murray was nominated for roles in Ghostbusters (1998), Rushmore (2012), Hyde Park on Hudson (2012) and St. Vincent (2014). Additionally to this, he earned a Golden Globe nomination for Lost in Translation (2003). The HBO miniseries, Olive Kitteridge (2014) brought him an award for his performance as a Primetime Emmy Award as Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series or Film.
