Lady Gaga, born Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta is an American songwriter, singer actress, philanthropist fashion designer.Gaga was born on March 28, 1986, in Manhattan, New York City, to Cynthia Louise (Bissett) an business executive and philanthropist and Joseph Anthony Germanotta, Jr., an internet entrepreneur. Her father is Italian, while her mother is West Virginian and is half Italian, half French, English and German. Gaga learned to play the piano and sing at a young age. Gaga was a student at the Convent of the Sacred Heart at the age of 11. She was bullied due to of her appearance. She was less attractive than other girls and had large front teeth. By age 17 she was granted early admission to the New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. She also developed her songwriting skills and also composed essays and analysis papers about art, religion, and politics. Gaga, then 19, dropped out of school to pursue an career in music. She started a band that attracted attention from the local press.
