Christina Applegate was born in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, to record producer/executive Robert Applegate and singer-actress Nancy Priddy. Soon after her birth, her parents split up. She has two half-siblings from her father's marriage re-marriage Alisa (b. October 10 1977) and Kyle (b. July 15 1981). Alisa and Christina are close friends, and even shared a home when Alisa was in college. Christina's mother accompanied her for all of her auditions as well as acting assignments. She made her acting debut at age five months, when her mother arranged for her to appear in a commercial for Playtex nursers. Her mother was never married and she remained close to Stephen Stills. Christina keeps the guitar Stephen gave her as a child. She played in a number of TV series before landing her breakout part in Married... with Children (1987). Christina still studies jazz dance.
