Mariska Hargitay is a renowned American actor, most famous for her portrayal of the sex crime detective 'Olivia Benson' in the NBC popular show 'Law & Order: Special Victims Unit'. Her performance as the character has earned numerous awards and nominations. As a person who is always acting Hargitay's breakthrough in film began early in her career when she was first seen in the film "Ghoulies". After a memorable performance in this movie Hargitay was then given a regular part in the highly-rated television series "ER," before she was cast as 'Olivia Benson.
