David Foster

David Walter Foster, OC, OBC is a multi-Grammy-winning musician, composer, songwriter and arranger hailing from Canada. Through the course of his almost five-decade long career, he's one of the few important people in modern western music that has had an impact on the majority, if not all of the recent changes. A musician of exceptional talent, his education was carefully designed to enhance his talent. Foster began taking piano lessons at the age of four and attended the University of Washington's music school nine years later. In 1974, he moved to Los Angeles as a member of the group "Skylark," and after the initial and unavoidable period of struggle, was awarded his first Grammy Award in 1980. Since then, he has created platinum and gold albums for artists like Earth, Wind & Fire; Natalie Cole; Michael Bolton; Seal; Kenny Rogers; Dolly Parton; Chicago; Hall & Oates; Brandy; and 'N Sync and written timeless classic songs for several blockbuster movies, including The Bodyguard', 'Urban Cowboy', and "St. Elmo's Fire'. Between 2012 and 2016, he served as chair of Universal's Verve Music Group, adding an additional feather to his cap. He was recently a part of the 'Asia's Got Talent' panel of judges.
