 DJ Envy Biography written by Jason BirchmeierThe Desert Storm Mixtape DJ Envy DJ Envy - Blok Party, Vol. 1 New York's DJ Envy is a well-known international TV and radio host as well as a longtime mixtape purveyor and producer. He was mentored by fellow Queens native DJ Clue?, he released numerous mixtapes, and was first commercially successful with 2003's The Desert Storm Mixtape: DJ Envy - Blok Party, Vol. 1. After meeting DJ Clue, Envy became a fixture on New York's hip-hop radio. in the early 1990s. Frequently putting out mixtapes, Envy rose up the ranks swiftly, and by the time the 2000s began, Envy was peddling the latest exclusives and freestyles by famous rappers such as Jay-Z, 50 Cent, and LOX. His productions were featured on albums such as Fabolous' Ghetto Fabolous and Foxy Brown's Broken Silence. The first commercial album he released, The Desert Storm Mixtape: DJ Envy - Blok Party Vol. DJ Clue released 1 's Desert Storm label in 2003 The album reached 57 on the Billboard 200. The Co-Op was released along with New York rapper Red Cafe came out in 2007.
