James Cameron

 James Francis Cameron CC (born August 16 1954) is a Canadian filmmaker and environmentalist. He is known for making science fiction and epic films, and first gained recognition for writing and the direction of The Terminator (1984). Cameron achieved further successes with Aliens (1986), The Abyss (1989), Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991) and the action-comedy True Lies (1994). Avatar (1909) as well as Titanic (1997) were both directed by Cameron. Titanic earned him Academy Awards for Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Film Editing. Avatar film, which was shot using 3D technology, also earned nominations in these same categories.Cameron co-founded the production companies Lightstorm Entertainment, Digital Domain and Earthship Productions. In addition to filmmaking, he's an National Geographic sea explorer and has produced many documentaries on the subject, including Ghosts of the Abyss (2003) and Aliens of the Deep (2005). Cameron also helped to create the computer-generated 3D Fusion Camera System and underwater filming. Cameron was the first person to alone descend into the Mariana Trench in 2012 with the Deepsea Challenger submersible.
