Joe Montana

Joe Montana was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers as the third-rounder in the 1979 National Football League Draft. He enjoyed a stellar career with both the 49ers (now the 49ers) as well as the Kansas City Chiefs (now the Chiefs). He was a pro of comebacks in the final moments of games and led his teams to 31 victories during the fourth quarter. It included the 92-yard drive that took place in Super Bowl XXIII's closing seconds. Montana was a devoted athlete and won the NFL's pass title in 1987 and 1989. He was the NFC's top quarterback five times (1981-1985 1985, 1981 1987, 1988, and 1987). His six 300-yard passing performances in the post-season have set an NFL record. The career playoff record for attempts and completions as in yards gained by passing is also held by the New Eagle, Pennsylvania native. In the process He won nine divisional championships as well as victories in Super Bowls XVI, XIX, XXIII, and XXIV. His impressive performance in Super Bowls XVI, XIX, and XXIV resulted in him being awarded Most Valuable Player honors in every game.
