Julie Benz is an American actress who is recognised across the world for her outstanding role in the roles of Darla in the TV series 'Angel' and 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Rita in the 'Dexter' series. Benz was a former figure skater, but she decided to quit and started acting. She began with local theatre before moving to films where she played small parts. With the TV series 'Hi Honey! I'm Home", she received her first taste of television. Before being cast in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" She acted in a variety of TV shows. In 1996, Benz had auditioned for the lead role in 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer however, she was offered an unimportant role. Her acting talents were apparent and her character was expanded to include several more episodes. It was the beginning of her career that allowed her to get noticed. She was also a part of popular shows such as "CSI: Miami" as well as 'Law & Order. In 2006, she earned herself the role of Rita Bennett in the award winner show "Dexter". Benz has received praise from critics and has been awarded numerous awards for her exceptional acting.
