After leaving school and working in odd jobs Ozzy joined an ensemble with Geezer. The group disbanded and Ozzy and Geezer joined Tony Iommi (and Bill Ward) in a new band. It was dubbed Black Sabbath and named after the track with the same name that was featured on their first album (released 1969/70). Although his relationship with Tony Iommi was deteriorating and he was recording many more albums together with Sabbath. Then, in 1979, he quit the group and was dismissed. After a short time the band broke up, he launched an independent career. The band members varied between albums and tour-to-tour. He was sued twice for the deaths of two of his teenage fans , and was admitted to hospital for alcoholism. He announced that he would not tour following the release of his No More Tears album.
