Sarah Silverman is an American stand-up comedian, actor and writer. She is also a singer, writer and producer. She is well-known for her witty humor and sassy comments. She is also famous for expressing her opinion on social taboos and controversial subjects that include racism, sexism, and religion. She discovered a love for comedy as a child. She began performing in her teens at local community theatres and clubs. She eventually left New York University to pursue an acting career full-time. Though she received a major break after she was roped to write and performer at 'Saturday Night Live,' she could not make most of the opportunity because she was dismissed following the premiere season. The disappointing beginning did disappoint this young and talented comedienne however she did make her comeback on the sketch comedy on HBO "Mr. The Bob Odenkirk and David Cross show, Since the show's premiere, she has been cast in various television shows. In addition, she has been featured in movies where she performed in both serious and comic roles. She hogged the limelight with her controversial remarks and performance in a TV show titled "Jesus is Magic..' In 2005 the film version of the same was released. The following year she was featured on the most popular show "The Sarah Silverman Show" which ran until 2010 on "Comedy Central.' It was known for its satire that was politically incorrect and was a hugely well-loved series.
