Laura Marie Marano (born November 29th, 1995)[is an American actress and singer. She is known for her role in the Disney Channel series Austin & Ally as Ally Dawson. Marano was among the original five classmates in Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader?. Marano starred in Without a Trace three times and Back to You twice. Marano was also a part of A Sort of Homecoming, an original Disney Channel Original Movie Bad Hair Day as well as the Netflix original film The Perfect Date. In 2015, Marano signed with Big Machine Records. She released her debut single, "Boombox", on March 11, 2016 and the following year, "La La", later in the year. Laura Marano, an independent artist, released her debut single "Me" on October 5 in 2018. Marano was born in Los Angeles. She is the daughter of a professor at the college Damiano Marano and former actress Ellen Marano, who owns the Agoura Children's Theatre.Her father is of Italian descent. Marano first became interested in acting through her mother's theatre. Marano started acting at age five. Her parents also introduced her to acting when she was just nine years old.
