Cristiano Ronaldo

 Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro was born on February 5, 1985, in Madeira, Portugal to Maria Dolores dos Santos Aveiro and Jose Diniz Aveiro. Cristiano is the elder brother of Hugo and has two sisters, Elma Catia and Liliana Catia. The name was inspired by the former president of the United States, Ronald Reagan, whom his father was heavily influenced by.The island of Madeira was also that Cristiano began to develop his skills as a footballer. His early years were spent playing for his local club, Nacional, and by when he reached 12 years old, he already made his name for his place as one of Madeira's top footballers . He didn't take long before he began to attract the attention of other big Portuguese clubs. One of them was Sporting was Benfica which was a team Cristiano and his father admired as a young boy. However he eventually chose to play for Sporting which was a team his mother loved and followed throughout her time as she grew older and playing with the likes of Figo was the goal for her son.
