Denzel Hayes Washington, Jr. was born in Mount Vernon, New York on the 28th of December 1954. He is the son of Lennis Washington, a Georgia-based beautician, and Denzel Washington, Sr. from Virginia. Denzel was a high school graduate who school, was enrolled at Fordham University with the intention to pursue a career as journalist. He was an actor in drama productions. After graduation , he moved to San Francisco to enroll at the American Conservatory Theater. He left A.C.T. after just one year to find work as an actor. His first acting gig was with a St. Mary's City summer production of a stage show in the stock theatre. The production was "Wings of the Morning" and is about the establishment of the colony of Maryland (now the state of Maryland) and the beginning times of the Maryland colonial assembly (a legislative body). Though the dialogue was writtenby the actor, Mathias DaSousa played the historic role. Afterwards he began to pursue screen roles with a serious. He was an actor with a wide range of talents and a dazzling presence that made it easy to find work in many television productions.
