Sela Ward who is an American actor, is recognized for her Emmy Award-winning performances on shows such as "Sisters" as well as "Once and Again." Sela Ward was born in Mississippi and was raised there. She was always fascinated by the arts from the time she was an teen. Following her high-school graduation she enrolled in the 'University of Alabama' and double-majored in fine arts and advertising. Following this, she started working as an artist on storyboards. She began modeling to earn additional income and soon began appearing in commercials on TV. In 1983 she made her television and film debuts in the film called "The Man who loved Women" and the television series 'Emerald Point N.A.S.". After playing a variety of guest roles on television shows and films in the 1980s, she began her acting career in 1991 on the show titled "Sisters." The show featured her in the role of Teddy Reed, one of the main characters that she won a 'Primetime Emmy' award. She also appeared in the series 'Once and Again' and won another 'Primetime Emmy' as well as a 'Golden Globe' award for her performance as "Lily Manning" in the show. She has also appeared in movies like "Independence Day: Resurgence' and 'The Day After Tomorrow.'
