Dwayne Johnson

 Dwayne Douglas Johnson is popularly known as The Rock, was born on May 2, 1972 in Hayward, California. Ata Johnson born Feagaimaleata Maivia, is his mother. Professional wrestler Rocky Johnson is his father (born Wayde Doug Bowles). His father hails from Amherst Nova Scotia, Canada. His mother is Samoan. Her father is Peter Fanene Maivia. When he was a kid, Dwayne traveled around a frequently with his parents, and was able to watch his dad perform in the boxing ring. In high school, Dwayne began playing football and he soon received a full scholarship from the University of Miami, where the student had a tremendous amount of success as a footballer. Dwayne was not able to play in the NFL following an injury to his back in 1995. After an entire year, he signed a three-year contract with the Canadian League. He left to pursue a career as a wrestler. Flex Kavanah was his first professional wrestling appearance. In this match, he took home the tag team championship with Brett Sawyer. Dwayne joined the WWE in 1996 , and was dubbed Rocky Maivia.
