Jessica Chastain

 Jessica Michelle Chastain was a Sacramento native who was born into a middle-class family in Northern California. Jerri Chastain is her mother and she is a vegan cook. Her father is an fireman. She discovered dance at the age of nine , and was in a dance troupe at the age of thirteen. She began performing in Shakespearean productions in the Bay Area. An actor in a production "Romeo Juliet" urged her to apply for Juilliard. With the assistance from Robin Williams, she became a member "Crew 32". She was also offered a deal to hold John Wells, a TV writer/producer, and eventually she worked on three of his shows on television. Jessica is still involved in the theatre, and has been in "The Cherry Orchard" as well as "Rodney's Wife""Salome", "Rodney's Wife," and "Othello". She divides her time between New York City and Los Angeles and performs in theatre, film, and TV. The year 2011 was a successful year for film. She was nominated and received a variety of awards, including a 2012 Oscar nomination for Best Performance by an actress in a supporting Role for The Help (2011).
