Joe Walsh

William Joseph Walsh (born December 27 in 1961) is an American politician and talk radio host. He is also a social worker and a former 2020 Republican presidential candidate who served a single term in the United States House of Representatives which represented Illinois's 8th congressional district.Born and raised in the Chicago metropolitan region, Walsh began his career as a social worker who provided education and job skills training for students from low-income areas. He gradually became politically active. Walsh had not been able to win elections in the race for Congress in 1996 and the Illinois House of Representatives in 1998 However, he was elected to the U.S. House in 2010 by defeating incumbent Melissa Bean. He was a favorite among members of the Tea Party movement, even although he didn't receive any backing from the Republican Party in his campaign against Bean. In the early 1990s, he referred to himself as a moderate Republican, but he later became a conservative and a Tea Party activist.During his time in Congress, Walsh was criticized for his frequent personal attacks against members of the Democratic Party and, specifically President Barack Obama. He accused Obama of renouncing the U.S.-Israel alliance and depleting the nation. Walsh was a firm advocate of a no-compromise approach when it came to legislating, which included not allowing tax hikes.
