Jon Jones

Jonathan Dwight Jones, a mixed martial artist hailing from America, has twice won the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship. He is widely regarded as one of the most outstanding mixed martial artists ever However, his tragic past has turned him into an unintentional cautionary tale. Jones was born in New York by a middle-class family. His life has been strongly influenced and shaped by religion from the time of his birth. He demonstrated prodigious skills as wrestler during his school days and won the state championship in Union-Endicott High School in upstate New York. He also played football as defensive lineman. Initially, Jones was pursuing a degree in criminal justice, but later on, his MMA career began to take off and he was able to drop out of college to become a professional fighter. In April 2008, Jones made his debut as a professional against Brad Bernard. He won the match by technical knockout. Jones has won a majority of his matches over a nearly 10-year professional career. The only loss was because of a questionable referee's decision. Jones has twice won the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship, but was stripped of his title each time. In 2015, he was hit-and-run and was stripped of his title the first time. A doping offense also led to him losing the interim title. In 2017, he was stripped after the results of a drug test were positive. The investigation is currently being conducted and, should Jones is found guilty of a crime, he could be being sentenced to a four-year suspension.
