Toronto native Alexandra Doig was born on June 8, 1973, to Filipina mother Gloria and Irish-Scottish father David. After watching "Porgy and Bess" as a child, Lexa was inspired to take up acting. She dropped out of high school in grade 13, did modeling and commercial work. She also hosted the YTV's Video & Arcade Top 10 (1991) along with her friend Gordon Michael Woolvett.Her first job as a professional began at 19, when she was cast opposite William Shatner and Greg Evigan in "TekWar". After her appearance in a range of productions on both large and small screens like CI5 (1998), Jungleground (1995), as well as No Alibi (2000) she was offered a part in Jason X (2001), which was the 10th installment of Friday the 13th series. The role was quickly cast for her as the Andromeda Ascendant, an intelligent artificial intelligence system. She also has guest appearances on a variety of well-known television shows, such as Traders (1996), Earth: Final Conflict (1997), The Chris Isaak Show (2001). Her credits in the theatre include "Arsenic and old Lace" and “Romeo and Juliet".
