Margaret Denise Quigley is an American actor and actress in the film and television industry. Her popularity is largely reflected by her stage name Maggie Q. She was originally planning to become a veterinarian scientist, however her family's financial constraints hindered her from getting the money she needed. In order to earn enough money to fund her dream the woman quit Honolulu which was her home town. She traveled to Tokyo to start her modeling career. She then moved to Taipei, before finally settling in Hong Kong. While she was living in Hong Kong, she met famous Jackie Chan who took an instant attraction to Q. Realising her true potential, Chan provided her with extensive training in how to be an action star. In 1998 she made her screen debut in the television drama "House of Dragon". Two years later, she starred in her first feature film, 'Model From Hell'. Q's performance as a 'Gen-Y Cop' in her subsequent film led to her first appearance in the screen in a Hollywood movie, Brett Ratner’s "Rush Hour 2. Since then, she has been equally busy in both Chinese and American film industries. She is currently starring as Hannah Wells in 'Designated Survivors'.
