Marin Hinkle

Marin was able to meet her parents when she was in the Peace Corps. Marin was born in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, but her family moved to Boston, Massachusetts, when she was only four months old. Her brother Mark was born in the year following. Her father, Rodney, is a retired teacher at a school. Her mother, Margaret, is a judge at the Massachusetts Superior Court.Marin wanted to be a ballerina and studied dance until the age of 16, after an injury to her ankle ended her dancing aspirations. Her parents were worried about her decision to not pursue acting, but they convinced her to pursue it. They also advised her to get an MA in teaching to help her if the situation didn't go as planned. She graduated from Brown University and then enrolled at New York University, where she said she was poor in her acting classes. In 1992, she got to know her husband Randall, a New York theater director. Following their success, they moved to Hollywood where they purchased an apartment. Her next role was as Judith Harper on the popular sitcom Two and a Half Men (2003) and made several guest appearances on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (1999)
