Reba Nell McEntire was born on the 28th of March 28, 1955 in McAlester, Oklahoma. From the age of 5 the reigning queen of country music, Reba Nell McEntire, has pursued a career in music. At the age of 12, she performed with the musical brothers of her, known as the McEntires Singing. A skilled athlete, Reba McEntire followed in the tradition of her rodeo-winning father in competitive barrel racing. The performance she gave of the "Star Spangled Banner" at the 1974 National Finals Rodeo in Oklahoma City attracted the attention of songwriter Red Steagall, who suggested she pursue a career in the field of country music. Since then, she's been given 7 gold and 5 Platinum albums, as well as two Grammy Awards. She also explored different entertainment avenues. In 1975, she was a guest host on Good Morning America (1975). Her acting in "Tremors", a movie that focused on the effects of tremors, and in the mini-series Buffalo Girls (1995) received generally positive reviews. In 1988, she formed Starstruck Entertainment to oversee the many aspects of her musical & acting careers.
