 Laura Jeanne Reese Witherspoon was born on the 22nd of March 1976 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Betty Witherspoon, a registered nurse, and John Draper Witherspoon, a military surgeon. Reese was raised for the first four years of her life in Wiesbaden, Hesse, Germany in which her father was employed as a lieutenant colonel within the US Army reserves. After that, the family relocated to the USA and moved to Nashville, Tennessee.Reese was introduced to the industry of entertainment from a young age. At age 7, she began modeling. She was able to be seen on numerous local television commercials. She was just 11 when she was awarded the Ten-State Talent Fair.
