Reese Witherspoon

Laura Jeanne Reese Witherspoon was born on the 22nd of March 1976 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Betty Witherspoon, a registered nurse, and John Draper Witherspoon, a military surgeon. Reese was raised for the first four years of her life in Wiesbaden, Hesse, Germany in which her father was employed as a lieutenant colonel within the US Army reserves. After that, the family relocated to the USA and moved to Nashville, Tennessee.Reese was introduced to the industry of entertainment from a young age. At age 7, she began modeling. She was able to be seen on numerous local television commercials. She was just 11 when she was awarded the Ten-State Talent Fair. In 1990, her debut acting role was on Robert Mulligan's The Man in the Moon (1991). The film was directed by a 14-year-old boy who received rave reviews. Film roles in larger films such as Jack the Bear (1993) and A Far Off Place (1993) came shortly after.Following the graduation ceremony of her high school in 1994 at Harpeth Hall, a Nashville all girls school, Reese decided to put her acting career on hold and attend Stanford University where she would major in English literature. However, her plans to attend college were thwarted after she was offered parts in two major motion picture: Fear (1996) alongside Mark Wahlberg and Freeway (1996) alongside Kiefer Suerland. Both films did not make it to major box-office hit, but.
