Salma Hayek was born on September 2, 1966 in Coatzacoalcos, Mexico. Her father is Lebanese and her mother is Spanish/Mexican. She saw Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (1971) at a local theater and decided that she wanted to be an actress. At age 12, she was sent to the Academy of the Sacred Heart in New Orleans, Louisiana. She was at Mexico City's prestigious University the Sacred Heart in New Orleans the city of New Orleans, Louisiana. Soon she was prepared to pursue acting seriously. She appeared on Street Justice (1991), The Sinbad Show (1993), Nurses (1991), Nurses (1991) and as the sexy maid in Dream On (1990). Mi Vida Loca (1993) also featured her single line. Unappreciated by Anglo filmmakers, she vented her anger on Paul Rodriguez's late-night talk show in Spanish.
