Steve Martin, an American comedian, actor and writer, has won multiple awards. He first became known as a journalist for the "Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour". He started his career as a stand-up comedian , and did his routines at local clubs. After making his debut on "The Steve Allen Show" and later be a part of "The Virginia Graham Show". He was a popular TV personality who appeared on numerous shows and also made an impressive debut on television. After his appearance on the NBC show Saturday Night Live (SNL), he was made famous and invited to host the show fifteen times. Steve Martin achieved even greater success with the release of his comedy album; his album "A Wild and Crazy Guy The album peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Pop Albums Chart and was accredited double-platinum. He had a large fan base and realized that the right time was now to make a move into film. His first substantial film appearance was in the short movie "The Absent-Minded Warlocker," that earned him an Academy Award nomination. He is a comedian and actor, as well as musician.
